In 2003, at the age of 33, I decided that I needed a career change. I resigned from my job in Poole, Dorset, and I moved to Inverness to study forestry at the Scottish School of Forestry in Balloch.
Four years later, I graduated with a Distinction and, armed with a BSc in Sustainable Forest Management, I started my new career in forestry.
In 2016, after working for ten years as a salaried forest manager, I saw an opportunity to establish a modern forest and tree management company operating from my home in the wonderful village of Foyers on the shores of Loch Ness, Inverness-shire.
The rest, as they say, is history.

My forestry training and experience provides me with the skills to meet my customers’ technical expectations, whether this happens to be providing advice on managing woodlands, selling their timber, designing and managing their tree planting projects, undertaking their tree surveys or any of the other varied tasks which I regularly perform.
My pre-forestry work experience provides me with the skills to meet my customers’ service expectations, whether this happens to be accurate budgeting and reporting, the provision of clear maps and documentation, or something as simple as completing the work in a timely manner.
When not practicing forestry, I spend my time gardening and working on my house in Foyers. I blog about it now and then and I also upload the occasional video to Youtube.
